Jihaad Burns aka “Rich” was born on June 7, 1990, in Elizabeth NJ. Growing up young Rich didn’t spend much time with his father but was blessed with a supportive mother and grandmother. He also has 2 older brothers Khayyam and Sheldon, and younger sister Nae Nae. Young Rich was introduced to the street life as a child by his father a convicted felon who served 2 separate King Pin Drug charges and is known in the streets as REDD FOXX the ring leader of the infamous blood gang “Sex Money Murder chapter“. A direction most would think young Rich would follow but instead he chose a life of music and sports.
Later in life tragedy strikes again when he loses his Aunt Almitra to a drug overdose and his dear grandmother to an untimely accident at work. The series of events in young Richie’s life led him down a reckless path of selling drugs, bangin, getting expelled from school and didn’t care about anyone or anything that came his way.
Things started to change for the better when Rich found his new love “Football”. He started playing football and found out he was a natural with the ball in his hand. Speed, Agility, Strength and Endurance became the Rich we know today. Rich the all star athlete played several positions halfback, receiver, and special teams specialist. He has rushed over 1000 yards and scored 20 touchdowns, he was selected to play in the High School all star game “The Snapple Bowl”.
When he was 10years old he would recite his favorite rapper’s rhymes which was Biggie Smalls. For fun he wrote rhymes and spit freestyle’s with friends and family. Richie never took it serious because he was dedicated to school and his favorite sport, football. Rich #5 was a highly ranked running back for Linden High School. He was recruited by top D1 schools, after high school he went to Eastern Arizona Jr College on a full scholarship due to his grades when things didn’t work out there he decided to pursue his rap career. He then started making music and playing it around his neighborhood and everybody was telling him he should go digital to let the world hear it. So then he started advertising his music on www.Hotnewhiphop.com Facebook, Twitter and myspace.
Thanksgiving 2010 was his first debut show at a well known NJ nightclub in Elizabeth Known as Cachae but now goes by All Star Nightclub. Performers such as 50cent, Jadakiss, and Rick Ross performed at that nightclub. Rich was the only unsigned artist that ever sold out at that club. Rich also attended a Snoop Dogg concert in Philadelphia PA with Snoop himself that changed the way he would look at his career forever.
Shawn King his uncle has appeared and produced several music videos for Plies, Cali Swag District, Young Money, and Trey Songz to name a few. Rich is projected to drop new photos, his debut mixtape which features the club banger “GET IT” produced by Peoples. Rich is also set to release a viral documentary showcasing “A Day In The Life of Richie Rich” which will accompany him on the next 5 showcases.
